Wednesday Rafting

It's time for some hardcore outdoors adventure! We're going to raft down the bouncy rapids lurking in the amazing Cetina river canyon, followed by a delicious traditional "peka" dinner at the Radmanove Mlinice restaurant.

Weather

Forecast sunny with some cloud, up to 25'C. Evening will be cooler, around 18'C.

You will need to bring:

For rafting - footwear that you don't mind getting wet (you will get wet), light clothes (eg. shorts, t-shirt ... which will get wet), and a lightweight windproof cagoule/k-way if you have one.

After, for the evening/dinner - a towel, and warm dry clothing to get changed into to wear for the evening.

Transport

The bus leaves MEDILS around 13:30.

Dinner

Dinner is at the Radmanove Mlinice at 18:15/30.

Omis

For those who are visiting Omis instead of rafting, you will travel on the bus with everyone and be dropped off in Omis. Ivica will pick you up later to bring you to Radmanove Mlinice. Time and exact location of the Ivica Taxi will be sent to you by email.

Any questions?

... ask Cath. Whitewater used to be my thing... ;-)

In need of a bit of a walk to digest all that lovely food? Or just some beautiful scenery looking down on the sea, easily accessed from MEDILS? Look no further... we're right next to the "Park-Forest Marjan", a local hill with a myriad of hiking trails and wonderful views.

Turn left out of the MEDILS gate, and walk along the road for a few minutes until you reach the automatic barriers which are the entrance of the Park-Forest. After that, go explore the trails on whatever path takes your fancy.

At the tCSC 2016 you will be required to use your own laptop and install a local virtual machine to run the exercises.

Make sure you have installed the Virtual Machine before we start classes on Monday!

Your laptop should meet the following requirements:

  • - the latest VirtualBox software installed <https://www.virtualbox.org/>.

The virtual appliance file and instructions on how to set it up are available either:

Please download and set up the virtual appliance before the beginning of the school.

You should have already received your credentials by email from Nikos. If not, or you have lost them, or indeed have any questions about the VM, please contact us.
